TPACK and SAMR

Questions:
1. How can TPACK and SAMR be used together in the library?
2. What other ideas/topics/ideas could be added to the mind map?

Hi Victoria, it's Jessica! This is a really attractive and interesting mind map. I like the level of specificity you get into with examples like Peardeck and the Bamfield link. I also like how you arranged the TPACK framework section by how you can use the framework, rather than just explaining where your own knowledge fits into the framework.
ReplyDeleteFor your first question, I think that SAMR and TPACK focus on different aspects of tech integration, so they actually complement eachother well. You can have an activity that integrates content, pedagogy, and tech, but isn't particularly transformative, and by the same token, you can have a transformative activity where the technical aspects are divorced from the content (I think it's really hard to completely divorce a tech project from pedagogy). By looking at both, you get the best of both worlds.
As for what's missing, I feel like it's one thing to list tasks by level in the hierarchy, but to really push this to the next level, you could provide suggestions for moving Substitution/Augmentation tasks to the next level. (Not to say that everything needs to go to the Modification/Redefinition levels all the time)
Thank you so much for sharing, I found this valuable.
Cheers,
Jessica
